David Beckham (1975 - )
David Robert Joseph Beckham is a soccer player.
He was born on May 2, 1975 in Leytonstone (London) - England.
He’s married with the ex –“Spice Girl” Victoria Adams.
He entered in the inferior categories of the Manchester United in 1991; two years later he signed his first contract as professional soccer player with this club.
He debuted on September 23, 1992 in a game of the England Cup against the Brighton & Hove Albion.
After play five games with the Preston North End, on April 2, 1995 he played his first game in the Premier League with the colors of the Red Devils (in a game against the Leeds United).
He plays in the middle field with great class and he has a strong shot.
He won with the Manchester United two titles of the Premier League (1996 and 1997) and of the England Cup (1996).
But he became famous in the season 1998-1999, when the Manchester won the Premier League, the England Cup and the Champions League. In 1999 he also won with the Manchester the Intercontinental Cup.
The same year he won the “Ball of Silver” prize, by being the second better soccer player in the European continent according to the French magazine “France Football”.
Later he won three new titles of the Premier League with the Manchester (2000, 2001 and 2003).
In July of 2003, he went to Spain to play in the Real Madrid. In the following month, he won the Super Cup of Spain with this club.
He played with the English Selection such as captain in the World Cups, also in the Eurocups.
In 2003, Beckham was honoured in his country with the Cross of Knight of the British Empire.
